I have owned a '76 CS22 for about 6 years now. What do you need to know? Commented By : CBRESQ (45 - days ago) ,Page:CS 22
I'm about the purchase a CS 27. Something about the hull and cabin shape just pulls at me.
However, I am a little disapointed with the small v-berth. I'm not convinced it will sleep two comfortably. I'm contemplating raising the v-berth 6-8" to get more leg room by taking advantage of the flare of the hull in the bow. As an added benefit, this will create extra storage space.
Does anybody have any thoughts on whether this is a good or bad idea? Commented By : Guest (64 - days ago) ,Page:CS 27
What are new engines choices for cs 36t besides rebuilt westerbeke 33? Commented By : botaylor@bellsouth.net (66 - days ago) ,Page:HomePage
I am considering buying a CS 27 and I see that it has overboard head discharge only. Has anyone fitted one with a holding tank? Commented By : Peter J (94 - days ago) ,Page:CS 27
I have a '80 CS27 with a wheel. I would get rid of it in a New York minute and replace it with the original tiller (I have that too from the PO) except for the fact that we can make a "helmsman's " seat with a cooler and some cushions wiht the wheel and that works really well for my wife who has arthritic knees and the bracing required with the tiller would be hell on them.
But the wheel takes up too much room in the c/p when cruising (I take it off every night and you still have this thing taking up way too much room. When I am single handing her it's a real pain to come aroound the wheel to go forward in a hurry (it happens!). My previous boats have all had tillers including a 35' Rhodes design. The tiller is way more responsive and you get way better "feel" for the boat.
My advice would be to stick with the tiller!! Commented By : bill@unitrak.com (97 - days ago) ,Page:CS 27
Very well done and illustrated. it is a gutsy project but sure looks like it turned out very nicely. Nice posting.
What have you found since doing the job in the boats performance, would you do it again?

I have a CS 27 with a wheel. (It came with the boat). It's kinda neat for the kids, but it does cut down on space in the cockpit. Also, when the installation was done, pedestal to sole seal wasn't done properly, and allowed saturation. Commented By : Guest (125 - days ago) ,Page:CS 27
I bought a CS27 last year that needed some serious TLC. Completely overhauling the interior since virtually all wood including the sole are bad. There is an excellent store in Toronto that carries all CS parts where I have been doing most of my shopping. Contact me and we can swap stories and pictures. I'm past the survey stage on buying a cs 30. the seatrial is just ahead
I'm very pleased with the boat but is there anything i should be wary of before the final deed is done? Commented By : mervillemiller (148 - days ago) ,Page:HomePage
I would like to have an auto pilot on the boat and would like your comments about which is best for a CS33 1/4 berth.
Cheers,
John Bartlett

I should have added I am interested in the fin keel version 6'3" draft. Commented By : Guest (177 - days ago) ,Page:CS 34
I am trying to find a stability curve for the CS 34. I would like to know the Angle of Vanishing Stability for this boat. Commented By : l.starter@hotmail.com (177 - days ago) ,Page:CS 34
Looking at differient boats right now would like to know the main differeince between a cs 33 and cs 34 or is the 34 updated or a new design? Commented By : jrozema@sympatico.ca (184 - days ago) ,Page:HomePage
I have sailed Goergian Bay and the North Channel for over 20 years in my CS36T with shoal draft. Until recently I have not experienced any problems. However with the constant dropping of water levels I would not suggest a deep draft for this area. Unfortunately the future indicates further water level drops.

I have a crack in the hatch in the head of my CS 30. Where can I go to have the plexi replaced? Commented By : dwight.dyson2@sympatico.ca (242 - days ago) ,Page:HomePage
I was thinking the same thing about the wheel when I recently purchased my 27. The guy I bought it from also said not to bother with a wheel. I will be working on her this fall and winter ready for launch in the spring. I would love to see some photos of a 27 interior and sailing.

Hey Nellie I too have a CS 27, I just purchased it and will be working on it over the next few months. I will be completely overhauling the interior as well as the exterior. Maybe we could swap Ideas.

CS 30 Bulkhead Repair. The fibreglass has pulled away from the bulkhead in the compartment just starboard of the mast. Any suggestions on the cause and repair would be appreciated. Dave lente1@mts.net Commented By : lente1@mts.net (289 - days ago) ,Page:HomePage
